About Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan

Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan is an epic, character-driven humorous fantasy comic. If you like Elf Life, Clan of the Cats or the work of Terry Pratchett, you'll probably enjoy Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan as well. As you can see on the front page, it's a subscription comic - but before we get to that, let's talk about the current storyline and the free stuff.

Webcomics history returns

The latest storyline is a very old one. It was first published online between 1994and 1996. Those original installments were all in Foreign, though, and the scan quality wasn't too hot. So now we're trying again.

In "The Stone of Contention", a forthcoming solar eclipse is making the members of the gang jittery. The witch Atra wants to go to a large Sabbath on the occasion of the eclipse, and Jake the Gnome is building some sort of infernal machine. Are there forces at work that they can't control?

Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan has no fixed format between stories, but in these particular sequences I've gone out of my way to take the opportunity to try out some different styles, methods and forms. So the format varies more than usually; some comics are hand-coloured, some are in pencil, some have layouts or colour schemes that I wouldn't normally use. It will settle down again eventually.

Earlier stories

There are some other free chapters in the archives. Take a gander at the 2001 storyline Dolphins and Dragons in which Kel seeks the aid of a dragon to help cure her nightmares. Or at the storyline Brewery, guest-drawn ten years ago by the very talented Remco Polman. This comic has been going on for a long, long time...
